Before we dive into Fund13 though, let’s take a look back at Project Catalyst’s last funding round, Fund12!
About Project Catalyst
For those that don’t know, Project Catalyst is Cardano’s community-driven innovation engine, designed to fund and support various projects aimed at enhancing the Cardano ecosystem. Launched by Input Output Global (IOG), it empowers innovators, developers, and entrepreneurs to propose ideas that bring real-world utility to Cardano. Participants can vote on these proposals, ensuring a decentralized decision-making process.
Fund 12
Last funding round, (Fund12) was one of the largest and most significant grant initiatives within the Cardano ecosystem, focusing on fostering innovation across a variety of real-world use cases. The fund aimed to empower blockchain entrepreneurs and developers with the resources needed to build applications and solutions that leverage the Cardano blockchain. Fund12 was part of a long-standing initiative under Catalyst, which has distributed millions of ₳ (ADA) to projects since its inception.
Here Are Some Key Highlights of Fund 12:
- Total Approved Funding: ₳46,484,802 (~$17m USD) in approved funding.
- Distributed ADA: ₳2,619,832 ($993,621.10) has been distributed across selected projects to date
- Number of Proposals: A total of 1,205 proposals were submitted, with 258 of those being selected for funding and moving into the development phase.
- Voting and Community Involvement: 291,737 votes were cast, representing strong participation from the Cardano community to decide which projects received funding.
